About the Author:

Pā Ryan has been a teacher of Māori language since 1960. He gratefully acknowledges the imput to this dictionary by Māori kaumātua and kuia of Tai Tokerau, Te Arawa whānui, Te Taura `whiri i te Reo Māori, Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga and the many iwi who come weekly to Te Ūnga Waka marae in Epsom, where Pā is the chaplain.
