About the Author:

Patricia Grace (Ngati Toa, Ngati Raukawa and Te Ati Awa) is a major New Zealand novelist, short story writer and children’s writer. She began writing early, whilst teaching and raising her family of seven children. Her children’s story The Kuia and the Spider won the New Zealand Picture Book of the Year in 1982.

About the Illustrator:

Robyn Kahukiwa (Ngāti Porou, Te Aitanga-a-Hauiti) is one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most important Māori artists, and is also an award-winning children’s book illustrator and writer. Her art has been exhibited worldwide and is held in numerous collections. Robyn lives in Raumati Beach, near Wellington.
