Navigating Māori futures: Ngā tini whetū – by Mason Durie
Ngā Tini Whetū brings together twenty-five papers Professor Mason Durie presented at national and international conferences between 2004 and 2010. It discusses Māori in a future involving new technologies, alliances, economies and levels of achievement and considers how Māori could respond to the changes, prosper and live in a changing world as Māori.
The papers focus on indigenous resilience and transformation, Māori potential and achievement, the Treaty of Waitangi in a national and global context, health care and ethics, and future scenarios for Māori social and economic development and sustainability.
This book builds on Professor Durie’s thinking in Ngā Kāhui Pou; Launching Māori futures and develops his thoughts on Māori being in the best position to respond to future trends.
