It explores the community at Parihaka, its resistance and the consequences of this and looks at Maori and government actions and responses up to the present day.

About the Author:
Danny Keenan (Ngati Te Whiti Ahi Ka, Te Atiawa) has a PhD in history from Massey University. He has worked in the Department of Māori Affairs and is a former senior lecturer in Māori/New Zealand history at Massey University, Palmerston North. He is now a full-time writer.
